Here is your opportunity to support our work and to help others!
Like most non-profits, Pathways Within depends on the generosity of foundations and the public to support our work. Our goal is to always improve and bring services to the organizations that we serve and to have the ability to change what we do, when the needs of the organizations we serve change. We have develop two ways in which you may make a donation. First you may make a direct donate to a child, by making a $20.00 donation to “Buy A Book for a Child in Need”. The Buy A Book for a Child in Need donation will put into the hands a new hardcover book, that is age appropriate. The other way to assist the Roads to Reading Initiative is to make a monetary donation to support our general operating expenses. All size donations are welcome. We have made it easy for you, our donors to make a donation with your Mastercard or Visa through our website.

Your gift of $120.00 can help provide a pre-school class of 30 children to start their own classroom library. Your gift of $700.00 will provide reading and education materials for summer reading and tutorial programming.

ALL CHILDREN NEED BOOKS
In the past year, the Roads to Reading Initiative has established a simple program that gives an individual or a group of individuals the opportunity to purchase a new book(s) for a child in need. We will send a new, age appropriate hardcover book to a child, who does not have books of their own at home. Caregivers or schoolteachers have identified children that are performing below grade level and are in need of improving their literacy skills. Most of the children that are performing below grade level are not read to and do not have books in the home. The latest national statistics state that 62% of those living in poverty do not have books at home. Our goal with your help is to reach some of these children. Books should be accessible to all children.
While libraries give parents and caregivers the opportunity to check books out for one or two weeks, not all communities have libraries that are accessible to parents and children. Some families in small communities have to travel at least ten miles to neighboring communities to gain access to public library facilities. We all know the long-term consequences and correlation of poor academic performance when a child cannot read. Currently, we have a waiting list of over 250 children who are waiting to have a book that belongs to them. The children on our waiting list will be recipients of your gifts. Your gift of $20.00 will provide the recipient child the access to book(s) in their home and the opportunity to improve their reading skills.
Your support of $20.00 will purchase at least one hardcover book for a child that is on our waiting list. Your name with be placed in the book(s) as the gift giver (donor) and the child’s name as the recipient of the gift. The donor will also have the option of remaining anonymous if they wish.
